We took the ferry to Macau for a day of sightseeing, shopping, and gambling. We visited several casinos, the most impressive of which was the Grand Lisboa My guide book called it “ridiculous ostentation”, and it wonderfully lived up to its reputation! 😆 We enjoyed an amazing French dinner at Robuchon au Dome. Of course, our long day ended with a long ferry ride back to Hong Kong. 😀

Surely, no one thought I would come to China and not visit the most famous residents?! I spent the morning at Ocean Park with the Pandas! 🐼 What a neat place (with lots of other animals, too). Lunch was at Jumbo Kingdom, a floating restaurant. Not only was the venue spectacular, but the food was delicious.

Well, the rain tried to mess up my day, but I conquered. I took the ferry over to Lantau Island to see the Po Lin Monastery and the Big Buddha. And, wow, he is big! The bronze statue itself is 112 feet tall (not to mention the 268 stairs to get close to him). Very impressive. The Chinese are also celebrating Buddha’s birthday this week, so their joy added to the experience. 😀

I love it when my husband goes somewhere awesome for a business trip … especially when I can go with him! I am exhausted after six days at Texas School, but I have a 17-hour flight to rest. So, with a camera, a plan, and Uber, I’m all set. Hong Kong, here we come!! 📷😀 🇭🇰

John Hartman’s Light Painting class this week was one of the best I have taken in my 7 years at Texas School. I learned so much and found inspiration to create some new things!
