I am honored to be invited by Wild Heart Gallery to participate in their inaugural exhibit, “Artist Invitational 2022”. From the gallery, “Hinkel’s wildlife photography is characterized by a haunting tenderness, impeccable detail, and dramatic lighting. There’s a contemplative stillness to her primate photography.”

One of the reasons I wanted to visit New Orleans is this little guy. I have been following Roux’s story since I heard his mom was expecting twins last year. (Obviously, I was excited about the possibility of photographing rare orangutan twins!) Unfortunately, his twin didn’t survive, and Roux had a rough first few months. It was amazing to see how the zoo took such good care of him and how he progressed until he was reunited with his mom and the rest of his family. He is doing well at 8 months old, and it made my heart happy to finally see him. 💕 Isn’t he precious?! 🙂

A week in the Caribbean is always a great idea! Anguilla is an island paradise tucked into the British West Indies near Saint Martin. The crystal-clear water is spectacular shades of blue, the people are friendly and welcoming, the Rum Punch is unbeatable, and the food is great! Sun, sand, and relaxation … does it get any better?! ❤️🏝🥂
