Travel day. Drive to Calama, flight to Santiago, then overnight flight to Dallas.

We had a wonderful time in Chile and Easter Island, and a wonderful anniversary. The people, the scenery, the wine, and the Moai. Thank you Chile for your hospitality! 🇨🇱🗿🥂

We spent the day visiting Lagunas Altiplánicas. What amazing landscapes! 😮 We also saw an ostrich, llamas, rabbits, and a fox. 🇨🇱

We traveled to the desert, and it is beautiful. This morning we walked around Moon Valley, which gets its name because it resembles the lunar surface. It is dry and desolate with very interesting sand dunes and rock formations. After lunch we went to the Atacama Salt Flat, where flamingos grazed in the water and the sunset was magical. 🇨🇱

Such a great day! We visited the 15 Moai lined up along the coast. They are spectacular! 🗿❤️

Wow! What a day! The hotel set-up a hilltop seafood picnic for lunch so we could watch the Total Solar Eclipse (80% here). After lunch, we visited the Rano Raraku quarry, where almost all the Moai were carved out of the hills. We finally got to meet the Moai up-close! 🗿❤️🗿❤️🗿❤️

I have wanted to see the Moai all my life! 🗿🗿🗿

We enjoyed a walking tour of beautiful Valparaíso, with its wonderful seaside and interesting graffiti. Then we enjoyed a wine tasting at Bodegas RE in Casablanca Valley. 🇨🇱
